My Journey to Glowing Up

Over the last few years, I have shed so many layers, I’ve let go of perfection and embraced all sides of myself, my messy, vulnerable, human self. Looking back to the olden days (what I’m calling my pre-2020 life ) when I was unsure, desperate to be liked and full of indecision - I feel like a whole new person, I feel- for the first time in my life - empowered, accepted and validated - not by anyone else, but by me.

I’m all ‘glown’ up - And continuously glowing week by week!

I’m on my journey and I’m unapologetically showing up as me. You’ve been with me reading through a lot of my processes, my thoughts, my deep understanding of my shift in my life and I thank you for that!

This post is like a mini summary of some of the things am doing to glow, grow, evolve, pivot and transform. It’s a pit stop in my journey that I want to share with you, with the hope it can help you also.

Behaviours that help

  • Setting boundaries (Yes I’m still banging that drum over and over)

  • Letting go of the past

  • Forgiving myself

  • Being willing to make mistakes

  • Accepting that I’m human

  • Surrounding myself with epic women

  • Recognising my ego

  • Lifting other women up

  • Using my voice

  • Letting go of perfection

  • Saying no

  • Honouring my menstrual cycle

  • Embracing the journey

  • Correcting people when they make assumptions about me

  • Loving fearlessly

  • Clearing my heart space often

  • Authenticity

Reading and learning has been key in my journey, so if you like reading, or listening to audiobooks then they are such a great way to get that understanding or to find new ways or techniques that will work for you to make positive changes, especially ones that are achievable for you.

Books that helped

Owning our story can be hard, but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it.
Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky, but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy- the experiences that make us most vulnerable.
Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.
